Everything you've ever wanted to know about the origin of the KKK. Very informative.

As a history major, this book was extremely interesting. It was also, I unabashedly admit, refreshing to be assigned a book that had images as well. As much as I love to dive into the world of a novel and imagine what it would look like for myself, when it comes to nonfiction I like to have the visual aids added to my reading. I am a visual learner and having images and illustrations from the time really helps me see how the world actually was then. The KKK is a dark, dreary mark on our nation’s history; however, Bartoletti does a great job showing the true history of the group.

Excellent book for kids on the history of the Klan. I hope the author has the time, when there's a new edition, to add information about our current, dangerous situation, where the Klan -- and white supremacy groups in general -- are not only on the rise but represented in the White House and among some elements of our military.

I read this for school, and it was a very educational book.

I liked that it showed how the South felt after the Civil War, something that's not talked about in the North. Plus, did you know that the KKK was around during reconstruction times?

If you want a book that helps explain how racism is still around and why, this book is for you.

This book gave the history of how the K.K.K came to be. It gave the background of the civil war and how the country's condition after this war allowed for the group to come together and have such an impact on the people. It was really interesting on who began this group and how it had changed to be what it is today.
I thought the this book was well organized and very informative. One thing that I would've liked better was to have read more of what the K.K.K is recently like. It told of the beginnings and how it became so popular but didn't seem to tell beyond that.
