This book was pretty much how I remember it. The last few pages of Corianne’s story always chills me to my bones, the Farley story didn’t really give me much. I got a bit of Diana POV and how she and Shade met but it wasn’t as punchy as Corianne’s story. Also a lot of the book at the end was just a sneak peak of glass sword so it’s a really short short story collection.

Earlier review;
The red queen series is one of my favorite series ever. So original, cool system of powers and lovely characters. Recommend that everyone reads this!

I knew what was going to happen, but it broke my heart anyway.

Loved the inside look into the two women's minds. Queen Coriane's story was as tragic as I thought it would be.

Reading from Farley's POV was more interesting than I thought it would be. Is that a ship I detect??!!

All in all great back ground for Glass Sword.

I was sort of disappointed with this. I bought the book knowing there were two stories in it, but not knowing that roughly a third of the book was just a Glass Sword preview, so I was kind of bummed. My favourite story was Queen Song, which was actually around half the length of Steel Scars which I didn't enjoy as much.

So while the stories were good, my favourite was really short and a lot of what I paid for was a preview of a book I already paid for and own.

It was good though, and as an avid Red Queen (and Maven) fan, I feel like I definitely should own this anyway.

Nice, quick read. I enjoyed the backstory of Farley, how her story intertwined with Mare's, and the beginning of her relationship with Shade. I wish we could have had more time with Coriane, especially after she became queen. Learned more about her time as a ruler.
