This was a cute romance book for young adults who are not into reading but want to read a quick, good book. It's about Charlie who wants to take Andre to the queer prom and tries to do a promposal to ask him. But he finds he likes Luis more. A few "lessons" are put in the story in a hard handed way but it was a sweet story and I enjoyed it.
The book is only 175 pages and there isn't much in the way of world building or character growth. But some people don't need that to enjoy a book. I feel it is written for older teens because there are a few references to adult thinking. "Gay Netflix" is one and the other is that someone is described as a ginger-bear. I know what the ginger is talking about and I know what a bear is gay-wise. I was just surprised that these terms would be used in a YA book.

Cute friends-to-boyfriends YA, but all the action between MCs happens literally on the last page.

A light-hearted, cute high school prom/romance story that can be read in one sitting - exactly what I was looking for to de-stress. Lots of little references to Vancouver community spots and hangouts which I enjoyed, and a nice cast of racially diverse characters. Also, every character in this book (except the kids' parents) is LGBTQ+!
