3.5 but I’m rounding up

I thought this book was very insightful and I learned a lot about schizophrenia that I hadn't previously known. This book gives a very good point of view and helps the reader begin to understand what it is like to be schizophrenic. I highly recommend this book for anyone that wants to learn and understand more about others that might not think or see things the same way as we do.

I really enjoyed this perspective and the way this was written. Will definitely recommend to students!

Really really enjoyed this. There were a few plot points that didn't seem resolved in a way that made me not enjoy this to the highest level, but I think that the representation was realistic and informative. Definitely an important read that should be discussed more.

Adam is a 17 year old schizophrenic who just started a new experimental drug and a new school. The story is told in the form of written entries to his psychologist, giving a look into his life, mind, and illness. I loved this story and Adam's character. This is a truly memorial book. There are some pretty great Harry Potter references and connections in Adam's entries too (always a bonus)!

The format was really enjoyable. Reading the story through Adam's journal entries felt like all the people in his life were side-characters, even Maya. He perfectly describes her, and his feelings about her, but still, this book is all about what's going on in Adam's head. The writing style makes it very easy to approach what schizophrenia is making him go through.
It was a quick read, really giving the vibes of reading someone else's diary. It's like these journal entries were for the reader. Almost like we were his psychiatrist, and he's writing all of these for us. That's how this book makes you feel, Adam's closest confidant.

Really, really short. Expected a lot more out of it. It is fine.

This book was absolutely incredible. I have never read a book quite like it and I don’t think I’ve ever liked this many main characters. Adam was incredibly well-written and I connected in a way to every character in the book. I felt for all of them and I loved how she avoided bs stereotypes for even characters who didn’t matter all that much. She gave the perfect balance of description and never made details feel excessive.

I even teared up at the end. I was initially skeptical about the journal-style format but the author did an absolutely amazing job.
