I really enjoyed this book, and I am not sure how to write a review that would show that, but I'll try my best. I will scatter some quotes that I like throughout the review.

things that I love:
- the format of the book! Each chapter was a journal entry that the main character wrote to his therapy. I liked the sarcastic tone of the letters and the way the main character interpreted the situations he was in and the people that he met. As the readers, we can't actually know what happened because of the narrative, but we can understand what caused Adam to act the way he did.

"I like libraries. There's something nice about the way you're never too old to get into one, but it still makes you feel the way it did when you were small."

- The premise of the book; a kid that has schizophrenia goes to a new school and tries to live a regular life. I didn't see many books that talk about this illness, especially in teenagers, and it was interesting to learn more about it. I liked the way Adam attributed a personality to each of his hallucinations and the way the book showed both negative and positive effects of it.

"I don't always say the things I mean to say when I talk to someone. It's impossible to swallow words after letting them out, so it's better for me to not speak at all if I can help it."

- The characters: each and every one of the characters were interesting. I liked the dynamics between Adam and his step-dad, they both tried their best but had a difficult time understanding the other. Adam's friends were great - both before and after they learn about his schizophrenia. Each of them had their own spotlights and plot lines. Somehow, I even grew to love his therapist (honestly, big shout out to the therapist and to the author that portrayed therapy in a positive light). And, of course, Adam himself.

"It's nice to hear 'I love you' from someone who doesn't have to be here."

The book had a good combination of funny and serious moments and Adam's narrative felt real. My review can't bring justice to this amazing book, so I recommend this book to everyone so you could understand why I like it so much.

"I made pad Thai with chicken a few nights ago, completely from scratch. It's probably the best thing I've made, so yeah, that's what I'm most proud of. I like feeding people. It's an easy way to make them happy, and I get a rush from the instant gratification" (chapter 9).

This is one of those books, the one where you don’t get a “happy” ending, but a realistic one and, I love it, but at the same time it makes me sad. I love how good the writing was, I love the characters and all the pieces of Adam’s mind.

This book was so adorable and touching and hilarious that I can't even describe it. I just think that if you are looking for a heartfelt ya contemporary that deals with heavy topics while also leaving you laughing, then you should definitely pick this book up. It also has a male pov (something I am so iffy about in ya because it's rarely done to my liking) but this male pov was authentic and engrossing. I loved that he genuinely sounded like a male but that he also had such personality. I fell in love with him. It was wonderful.
