Serviceable short non-fiction that doesn't really get into the real meat and potatoes of the man at all; next to no mention of the technical aspects of his music. I'd like to come across a writer that hits me in a similar way to Fahey, or could evoke his music's spirit in some way. 180 pages for a complicated life like his seems a little underwhelming but it covers all that needs to be covered, although I'd imagine not what most would want to be covered.

Fahey consistently comes across as a big whining infant, too irresponsible and self-centred to do anything besides exactly what he wants to do at any given time. Definitely well-researched, plenty of likely worthwhile anecdotes left out while retaining the ones that are probably key without disrupting pace too much. I feel a longer book would be better suited for portraying Fahey more thoroughly, but I don't know how many pages I could put up with him for.
