Darren and Mr Crepsley go to investigate killings in a familiar town and a shocked Darren receives notification that he must go to school. He is also shocked to discover that his new teacher is Debbie and she is instantly suspicious at his youthful looks. Can he trust her with the truth? And who is the deranged killer in town?
Again I felt the plot was too obvious in the book but it didn't stop me from enjoying another book in the series.

A breath of fresh air from the last book, while hunters of dusk was slow and a lot of setting up this book went for the jugular with reappearances of characters that haven’t been around in a while and a fast paced plot. Sped through this one with ease, it kept me turning pages. Along with trials of death and vampire prince this is one of the best in the series so far in my opinion.
