Life Is Like a Musical: How to Live, Love, and Lead Like a Star by Tim Federle

Good, bite-size nuggets of self-help wisdom in very short chapters, sprinkled with anecdotes about the author's life. Nothing groundbreaking if you've read a "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" installment, but i find it helpful to periodically read the self-help genre to remind myself how to be a better person. Lot of Broadway metaphors- hopefully you're familiar with some pillars of the genre like A Chorus Line, Billy Elliot, etc.

Cheesy but cute. Life lessons that are obvious but are good reminders, especially in the sometimes catty/drama-filled theatre world.

This was a fun little guide/self-help book that was also basically part memoir. I thought the advice was good, and I really enjoyed all the references to theater throughout the book. Federle's anecdotes from his life as a theater performer and writer were interesting. And the chapters are all nice and short, making this a perfect book to pick up in small bites. It is also a quick read.

Tim Federle gives readers an insight to living your best life possible in terms of succeeding on Broadway. This book was fun and funny. It felt like I was sitting and having coffee (even though I don't drink coffee) with the author. While many of his tips are pretty standard and not earth shattering, it came through in a fun package.

Such an awesome book on so many levels. Great stories, great life lessons and full of whimsy. Make sure you get the audio as Tim Federle himself reads it! Easy to read snippets for theatre kids, graduate gift, or anyone!

Okay, like, this was such a great inspirational read. This goes for anyone of all ages, and especially touching upon those with theatre experience, but you don't always need that to read something like this.

Humbling and showing me vulnerability again which is what I need, and although a lot of ideologies gave me a little sense of fear, it's definitely needed in order to achieve something I would want.

100% will re-read it again!
