“I used to think that basically, the whole world, that all humanity were basically bastards. I’ve since found that most people seem to be pretty nice—basically good people doing the best they can.” 💕

It’s no surprise that Anthony Bourdain outshines every interviewer in this collection. He takes limiting questions and forces the conversation to be wider. That is/was his gift. 🥺 But Neil DeGrasse Tyson is easily the worst interviewer of the lot - he’s so culturally chauvinistic!!! Neil was repeatedly trying to get Anthony Bourdain to admit other countries are gross??? What a galactic butthead!

Otherwise, this book of interviews is a nice reminder of Anthony Bourdain’s energy and has a fantastic introduction from Helen Rosner.

Interesting to see what gets selected in a posthumous collection of interviews. Tried to read between the lines but honestly I felt like the mask doesn't fall much here. It's a slim edition so if you're a fan of his, it's worth a borrow.

This collection was so well-curated. I'm a fan of Anthony Bourdain, and I thought this did a nice job of showing his evolution, certainly in the last few years of his life, around political thought and his agency in the world. Definitely seeking out more in this collection.
