ow have I missed K. Street all this time? What a listen this book is! Tucker came home after the death of his brother, and has taken to a life that he did not expect. Wanting to leave his hometown behind, this unexpected twist has left him a widow with a beautiful daughter. Camryn has moved to Jaxson Cove to start her life over. Leaving her ex behind, she is not looking for love, but Tucker and Shayne have stolen her heart. First, let me start by saying I love the single dad trope, and the relationship between Tucker and his "Doodlebug" is so endearing! She is a spitfire and stole my heart right away with her big words and quick wit. Tucker is such a gruff one, but has a heart of gold underneath. Camryn has a lot of baggage, and I love how they work through things. It's a wonderful listen, full of fun times(cupcakes are delicious!), serious topics and passionate romance. An incredible listen!

With books like this, narrators are key. Teddy Hamilton takes the role of Tucker and makes him real. He has that gruff exterior with lots of emotion and Teddy's conversational inflection makes him very genuine. Callie Dalton as Camryn is spot on. She takes Camryn's damaged self and gives her the emotional pull needed to make her the wounded girl she is. At the same time, I love her confidence when she is with Shayne. Together the two compliment each other in this dually narrated story.

I am a sucker for a single Dad. Tucker is a devoted dad who is resigned to being alone in order to devote himself to his daughter. He is selfless and kind.

"Shayne’s head rested on my chest, tucked into the space where my heart used to be, before my entire world had been turned upside down."

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read and a really sweet story. I absolutely loved the daughter, Shayne. This is unusual, but she turned out to be my favorite character. Her sweetness, acceptance, wit and pure heart are adorable. Camryn has lost her dad and has moved on from a bad relationship. Camryn and Shayne's connection and common bond are what I fell in love with first. Camryn is open, understanding and loving. She gets where both Tucker and Shayne are coming from. This is a sweet story of moving on from loss and learning to live again. There is a twist to this story and it will pull at your heartstrings.

I do love a single dad story.
This was sweet and not what I was expecting at all. I don’t think I have actually listened to K. Street book before but I enjoyed it and I like that ok there was a little drama which is to be expected it didn’t drag out.
And Tuckers daughter “Doodlebug” was the sweetest she kinda of stole the show for me and I loved it.

Cam is kinda perfect for them so again I just enjoyed the story.
I loved, loved the narration.

If you are like me and LOVE a single day story line then you'll like this book. Nothing pulls on my heart strings the way a good father/child relationship does....every time! This book was a little predictable and has an insta-love relationship but it had some twists too. I fell in love with Tucker before chapter 1. He's the best kind of dad in my opinion because his daughter comes first! Camryn is trying to move forward after heartbreak and loss, she was fun and very likable. I wish there had been a little more time for their relationship since I'm not a big fan of insta-love but it still worked for me. The sex scenes were steamy but not HOT. In the end I really enjoyed this book and the epilogue was perfect!

I also found my new favorite quote hiding in this book...

“It’s life. You don’t get to choose your hand, but you can decide how
to play the cards.”

The narration was SPOT ON PERFECT! Teddy Hamilton is perfect for Tucker and Callie Dalton really brings out the best parts of Camryn. Great casting choice!
