There is nothing better than a second chance romance. Ev Bishop has come up with a story about second chances not only about starting over, but is very ordinary and believable. So many times, the story relies on some outrageous action. This story of Jo and Callum is very real and shows how misunderstanding can result in disaster.Jo and Callum were high school sweethearts, ready to elope and start the next step of their new life. When things did not go as expected, the two went on with their lives until they met again 15 years later. Is the spark still alive? Will they figure out what went wrong? I love this story, the things the two have to work through are very authentic and can easily be related to in our lives. The supporting characters, even those you love to hate like Nina and Dave are people we all know and this makes the story so easy to connect to. I love the outcome, the relationships with the families, the expectations of parents, the shattered and rebuilding of dreams. All things to make a story great and enjoyable. I can't wait to see what is in store in book 2!

My first narration by Sarah Grant was a wonderful experience. I loved her pace of the story, and her voices were great! She performs convincing male voices and has a numerous array of female voices giving each character a distinguishable personality. She is a pleasure to listen to.

An enjoyable read! The characters were flawed but relatable and the story was parts fun, heartbreaking, and sweet. A great way to spend an afternoon.

A sweet, second chance at love story. But it goes on a smidge too long, and it's weird how neither of the characters caught on to the utter bull they were being fed by another character.

When I first started this book, I was hopeful. Even though it was free, it was well written and the characters were distinct. I liked Jo and Callum. There also seemed to be decent MH rep. However, everyone else in the story sucked. Both main characters were clearly being treated like garbage by everyone around them and just refused to see it. Even worse, they’d have these moments of realization and then be all “nah! I’m sure that’s not it!” and go about being stupid again. It got to be too frustrating to enjoy the romance. At least I tried one of the many free ebooks BookBub talked me into buying.
