"There is other love out there for me. But it’s different. It isn’t this. It isn’t this exact love. It’s better and it’s worse. But I guess that’s sort of the point of love between two people—you can’t re-create it. Every time you love, everyone you love, the love is different. You’re different in it."

Just not for me. I didn't like Emma or Jesse, who are basically the main plot. I love Taylor Jenkins Reid, but this just wasn't for me

Despite recently not being into romance books, this was a decent story, had some awe moment too, but I just think there wasn't enough depth. The book really makes you think what on earth you'd do in this situation, but the book really didn't make it as emotionally devastating and complicated as it should have been in my opinion. Like this is a story that if written well could have opened the waterworks but it just didn't do it for me. In saying that, it was still a good listen, easy to get swept in trying to figure out who Emma is going to choose and who you want her to choose as well.

(just a thought: maybe having listened to the book, rather than reading it, took away from the emotions that it should have conveyed, or maybe i'm just a heartless bitch who knows)

Also hated how it was just so convenient that Jesse seemed so annoying for not understanding and the author got yo to root for Sam and then bam he reads the letter and after one quick conversation about it they're okay never being together, big HMMMMM. Although maybe I am alone in rooting for Sam because many other reviews said they were disappointed
