A long story of Edward Snowden since his childhood with all the questions about society, to the changes of American after September 11 attacks, to the last chapters where he talks about his life when he decided to flee to Hong Kong to reveal the secret he buried for long. I'm not quite sure I can understand all the technical parts, but in terms of basic ideology, there are quite a lot of things that I can get from this book. For example, the fact that “law is always lags behind technological innovation by at least a generation” or that hackers are the one who understands the system better than the creators themselves, I learnt a lot and I know I will keep coming back to these thinkings.

Overall, I quite like this book as it projected more than the portrait of a controversial personage, rather it draws our attention more towards personal security, and also I was provided with more information about the world of intelligence in general. When finished the reading, I felt myself nodding to the message he had portrayed, but at the same time thrilled by the fact that once connected, I will be forever monitored under some kind of surveillance network ...

fantastic read.

This book gave me a different perspective of Edward Snowden. It gives you a good insight to his life leading to the NSA leak by himself. Worth every minute reading this book.

Really great to have a broader perspective on this huge shift in our perception of technology. I admit skipping a little bit in the beginning where it felt the intro-level explanations of some things were too rudimentary for me. I understand it's good to reach a broader audience, so I won't fault him for that. Great book overall!
