For me this was a big let down after the fantastic first book. There didn't seem to be as much investment in the characters and the story just seemed to be going through the motions. Maybe I felt that way because it was a different audiobook narrator than the first book? I don't know. Regardless, I'm still going to finish out the series.

Not as good as #1. This one dragged for me and was repetitive. I did stick with it to get to the end, but it was kind if disappointing.

As a bridge in a trilogy this was pretty darn good. There was a lot to like about this second book in the series. I find the characters more relatable and likable in the books than in the TV series (perhaps no surprise as there is typical so much more depth to characters in books). Looking forward to The Night Eternal...
