Good historical fiction! I really enjoyed it, but it was pretty slow at the start, giving you ALL the details. But good!

I really wanted to like this book more than I did, but I don’t think that’s entirely the author’s fault. I’d gone through a handful of Hamilton/Schuyler books over the last year, and perhaps this was just too much of what I already read. The writing was good, the story was well-drawn, the characters were true-to-life. My biggest complaint is that I expected more about this “Revolutionary Friendship” of the subtitle. The relationship between Hamilton and Peggy seemed late to come and forced, almost nonexistent. I think “And Peggy: A Revolutionary Sister” or something would have been a better title and a lot less misleading, possibly avoiding the disappointment I felt with this book.

Its been a while since I’ve read this book but I was fixing up my shelves, making a note on all the books I own and sorting them into all the genres when I realized that I never did a review on this book

Though rather misleadingly titled, this thoroughly researched and very readable historical novel shines a light on the third of the Schuyler sisters, Peggy, who only appears briefly in the first half of Lin Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton. See my full review here.

A fantastic book! So often we hear about Angelica and Eliza Schuyler, but not too much about Peggy. This book focuses on the Revolutionary War and the part that Peggy played in her family and in cause of freedom. I learned so much about this time period that I didn't know. The author did a fantastic job researching the people and the time period. An impressive bibliography in the back.

This was so fun! The pacing was a little slow at times but then it would pick back up again. I thought this book was really funny without even trying to be and didn’t feel like a historical book a lot of the time because of how it was written. This book is great for fans of history or even just the Hamilton musical.

It is, after all, a YA novel. Far too much sighing and blushing and fluttering. But a nice breezy way to spend a few evenings.
