Funny, informative and you will definitely be imaging/planning your escape for the robot uprising.

Great, funny concept. This book (written by a grad student in engineering and robotics) presents actual real-life info on robot research and development interspersed with advice on how to stay alive when they, you know, careen wildly out of control and try to take over the world. As the last paragraph in the introduction reads, "You probably found [b:How to Survive a Robot Uprising|59793|How To Survive a Robot Uprising Tips on Defending Yourself Against the Coming Rebellion|Daniel H. Wilson|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1170536451s/59793.jpg|58184] in the humor section. Let's just hope that is where it belongs." A funny, interesting little read.

Fun, cheeky way to learn the basics of robotics. Audio version likely misses a number of diagrams that would make some parts more coherent. Narrator had the perfect tongue in cheek tone.

Humorous and dark, read like it is inevitable which let my brain consider different scenarios.

This is a really interesting and humorous way to learn about all the real robotics tech out there... or at least that was out there in 2005. I'd love to read an update; I'm sure the field has advanced leaps and bounds.

Do you have a robot in your home? If so you must read this book!

Equal parts real life information about our ever improving robot technology and "real life" information about how to avoid, escape and destroy robots (In case of emergencies only!).

I found the information about our technology interesting and the parts about survival not only funny, but practical as well (written with a straight face). It reminded me very much of A Werewolf's Guide to Life, but is even more funny.

A bit on the short side. I finished it in one sitting, but I had a good time reading it!

I was expecting a lot more humour in this book but it was sadly lacking in that area except for the odd chuckle here and there. There was a lot of technical jargon in it and overall it wasn't particularly interesting. I only finished the book to claim points for a reading challenge.

Cute. This took about an hour to read, and while there were a few good jokes, I am sure there must be better robot uprising survival guides.
