I really liked this book! I've been following Ben Sears on Instagram for a while and really enjoy his art style--lots of chunky shapes and wiggly lines, with most of the action taking place on a single plane. It's a unique look that I really enjoy, which reminds me of Schoolhouse Rock, Aardman Animations and old-school anime. I hadn't read any of Plus Man and Hank's previous adventures, but Sears does a great job of conveying their personalities and making them seem familiar almost immediately. Even though there's plenty of action and an intriguing plot full of twists, turns and mystery, it unfolds at a leisurely pace, not unlike a TinTin book or a less-pretentious Wes Anderson movie (though maybe the fact that this story mostly takes place at a hotel is making me feel that way...). Sears also does a great job of introducing bit players effectively, imbuing them with character without delving too deeply into their back stories. I really enjoyed The Ideal Copy and will definitely be tracking down Plus Man an Hank's older adventures.

Predictable story following the same treasure hunting duo. Dialogue was dry and the story was not as original as Night Air.
