I thought this work of graphic nonfiction was very informative and interesting. Since 2/2022, I have been worried about Russia’s war in Ukraine but haven’t been able to bring myself to read eyewitness accounts. With one small illustration per page, the book alternates between K, a Ukrainian journalist who moved her children to Copenhagen. And D, a Russian artist who fears the draft and tries to forge the path to emigration for his family.

Aside from the glaringly obvious issues already pointed out by countless reviewers before me, this book also is just terrible. I’d be interested to hear from people that are less privileged (ie: can’t afford to take twelve vacations and hire a nanny).
