Now this was more like it. After not loving [b:A Court of Thorns and Roses|50659467|A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1)|Sarah J. Maas|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1620324329l/50659467._SY75_.jpg|21905102], I did not know what to expect from this sequel. I definitely did NOT expect to read a book that describes a heroine going through PTSD and depression in this fantasy series. Feyre was going through so much and I through the first 30% of the book, I was screaming at what I was reading in the pages. I was so angry that no one was acknowledging her state and so over Tamlin and his toxic ass.

I had had enough when finally Rhys came in to save her. She did not undestand that that was what he was doing at first, and he certainly tried to be very indirect in his first approach. But after that final straw, he takes charge and I am so thankful he did. Feyre needed to be pushed forward, needed a support system, needed to find a way to cope with everything she had been through and her new identity.

Their developing relationship was amazing to read about. A special highlight was Rhys' speech in the cabin (you know the one I'm talking about). But even beyond Rhys, the Night Court was infinetely more interesting than the Court of Spring. I will say, I was super disappointed in Lucien. And I wanted a bit more for Alice to do. Though the newly introduced side characters were a lot more likable. The found family in this one is a major part of the story.

Now, while the final plan was a bit too straight-forward, the outcome of that final plan had my jaw on the floor and itching to read on.

So, so, so much better than the first book.

I honestly regret reading this book.

Because now I need to wait for a few horrible months for the next book.

This book is just sooooooooo good, like I want to reread it right now. It is now one of my favourite book in the universe.

I think i might have a book hangover now ugh.

By the way.

Definitely a step up from the first novel. Rhys is a good character and I appreciated the nuance and development of him and his world. But I don't have too much to say beyond that. An easy listen but not my favorite series.
