It’s a really good read, you will sit comfortably reading this book if you’ve read the others in the series, as the friend group is in this one again. This book is sweet, and it does bring up heartbreak, death of a spouse, and abuse, lightly.

Quite liked the story but the romance was almost non-existent.

Following on from Tru’s story in The Countess, Valencia is recently widowed and ready to rediscover herself whilst exploring the more secretive side of the Ton. Her husband was abusive and mean following an accident that left him in daily pain, so when he fell down the stairs and died in The Countess, it left Valencia free of him. But when his heir comes to take the Dukedom and she is to be forced to retire to the dower house in Yorkshire at only 32, she offers to help him get his many sisters ready for life in society. Unfortunately the new duke is also rather good looking and kind…
A nice easy read with likeable characters and women who don’t just do as they’re told!
