Overall, I did really enjoy this novel. It's got that Hogwarts sort of vibe, with supernaturals running around at a school, getting into trouble and trying to save the world. Fans of the Harry Potter series with really like this story, if they can look past the small errors here and there. The style is simplistic. There are no long-drawn out descriptions to drag the story down, but instead, we focus on important world building details, like the appearance of the school itself and major characters. The dialogue is well-written and flows very smoothly as well.

The characters were probably my favorite part. I adored the diversity in their relationships. There are characters that represent all angles of sexuality here; Talon and Lucas are just the beginning. Now, while we have a rather large cast of characters, each one is splendidly written and different from the others. They all have their own specific personality, motivations, and backgrounds. Seeing them interact with each other was splendid.

As far as plot is concerned, the only issue I really had was that it was a bit predictable. I called who the antagonist was from the moment they showed up, but I didn't see his/her connection to the main cast. That part kind of caught me off guard. The mystery of who's-killing-these-people was fun to follow, right behind the constant romantic drama and tension. It definitely kept my attention up until the very end. Very well done!

Some issues that I did have: There were some name issues here and there throughout the book. I believe that one of the main characters went through a name change at some point in editing and the old ones got left behind. It was a tiny bit confusing. Also, for some reason, I kept getting David and Daniel confused. It might be worth changing one or the other. Lastly, the prologue was absolutely confusing. I still have no idea what happened, haha.

It's definitely worth a read, though. If you're a fan of Harry Potter, definitely pick this up. I mean, look at that gorgeous cover!
