Yet another lovely novella by Kati Wilde padding out my goal to read 20 items in December. 😂

There wasn't as much heavy effort into the world and setup, but this is a very short novella and the spicy scenes more than make up for the broad brush world.

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. It is a fast read but enjoyable. It is a twist on the beauty and the beast fairytale and I thought it was well done. I enjoyed that Cora and Gideon had a past and when he ended up with the curse for the werewolf, he sent her away to keep her safe, though she didn't know that. They had young love and a promise of marriage when everything separated them. Now Cora ends up with a missive from a lawyer that brings her back to Blackwood Manor, though it isn't as she expects and when she sees Gideon again, it isn't the young man she left behind. I enjoyed the way the story played out and built. It was entertaining and well done. The story flowed and was set up well.

More like a novella, but a very hot retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I would have enjoyed a longer more filled-out version of this story. I have read a lot of these and this take was unique.

The first 80% was a great gothic Beauty & the Beast vibe but the last 20% was a hilarious cringey mess. It’s a shame that mysterious necklace and curse got let down by giant werewolf dong lmaoooo

First book of the Beauty Series - a series of “sexy interpretations of the classic [Beauty and the Beast] tale - this novella brings the sexy and fun.

This deals with our heroine, Cora, returning to her childhood home 10 years later. She meets up with her first love - Gideon - and the shenanigans ensue.

This novella, in keeping with the paranormal theme of the romance, starts off with a nice creepy beginning. It was different from the usual werewolf romance stories so this novella is probably worth it just for that.

After that promising beginning it settled into a more conventional paranormal romance which was a bit of a missed opportunity. I wish the couple had spent more time talking instead of avoiding each other. Some of the time they spent pining could have been used to explore the characters a little more.

Still, Ms. Wilde’s heroes remain worth the price of entry.

3 stars in the end for a fun romp with a strong beginning and a more typical end which relied a little too much on miscommunication trope.
