Michael Botur hasn’t just dipped his toes into the horror genre…he just dove right on in! This collection of stories has a bit of everything and does not disappoint. His writing style is comfortable, like he’s with you telling you these tales face to face. This is a definite must read for horror fans. Recommend 100%!

I received an ARC copy from Henry Roi PR, and Black Tide Book Tours. This review is voluntary and my own opinion.

In his first journey to the horror genre, New Zealand author Michael Botur has put together a solid collection of short stories. These stories range from creature feature, ghost, eco horror, and then some. I really hope he continues in the genre.

None of these stories are terribly graphic but that will be subjective depending on the reader. I myself visualize stories as I am reading them and these do not disappoint.

I enjoyed this collection but in my opinion standouts are Bloodalchohol, We Created a Country, Lossboys, and Racing Hearts.

Horror is fantastic year round but this would be a great one to pick up for spooky season.

A collection of short stories, this isn't horror the way I'd usually define it. The stories are more unnerving than terrifying, leaving you feeling creeped out and disturbed. They definitely made for an interesting read and some of the stories will be sticking with me, I'm sure.
