A story set during one of my favorite periods in history, I knew I had to read it once I saw the blurb. A Viking warrior, an honorable Saxon, two enemies that come to love one another. Sign me up! I really liked both characters, though I hated that some things were drawn out because the characters omited them when spilling all of their other secrets. I liked how gentle Rolfe, the hero, was, and how fierce the heroine, Elswyth, could be. She was a little naive and he was a bit too wrapped up in the past, but they made a good pair. I hate Elswyth's father and oldest brother, but man do I ever want her sister Ellan's story. I liked this overall, and I will be checking out more of this author's work, particularly since some of the side characters from her other Viking series showed up in here.
