O livro "O Planeta dos Macacos" veio a fama graças a sua adaptação para o cinema em 1968, com o ator Charlton Heston, e até aí nunca foi um clássico da literatura, ganhou esse título por popularidade e interesse em lerem o material que gerou filme tão famoso. O que me trouxe a questão, o que categoriza um "clássico"? Pois nunca li tamanha porcaria!
O livro é mal escrito, cansativo, enrolado, o fim com sua ""surpreendente virada de trama"" (que não tem nada de surpreendente) e seu personagem principal insuportável, egocêntrico e asqueroso. A melhor parte do livro foi onde uma macaca o chama de feio, ri muito!
O texto é racista, misógino, preconceituoso e a trama toda muito fraca. Como aqui é preciso colocar uma estrela, aqui está. Não vale nenhuma não. Uma grande perda de tempo!

Racismo descrevendo povos africanos e indígenas, elogios a hegemonia, preconceitos por todos lado e uma incansável misoginia sem fim! A única personagem mulher é descrita como tendo apenas qualidades de beleza, como burra, sujeita a abuso e curada de sua incompetência pela maternidade forçada. A personagem da macaca é admirada por ser inteligente porém sempre lembrando que é inferior aos outros macacos, e os macacos são claro uma 'raça' inferior pois como poderia algum ser estar acima dos humanos. Da tripulação de 3 homens que chaga ao planeta um logo é descartado e o grande professor estudioso em pouco tempo se rende a se tornar um animal, pois somente nosso protagonista é digno!
Se descrevendo como de origem divina, superior, extremamente inteligente, forte, bla bla bla bla. Ele rapidamente se diz dono da mulher bonita (e jovem, por que ela sempre são estranhamente "muito jovens"), a engravida e chega a conclusão que foi isso que a fez melhor e é claro que seu filho vem comparado com Jesus Cristo. No fim ele acha que vai fugir pra retornar a esse planeta trazendo uma nova evolução e dá com a cara na parede! Ah, e tem um insulto a deficientes também lá pelas tantas, dentre tanta história ruim.
A reviravolta científica é mal sustentada e fraca, a resolução da obra é fraca, e o casal que achou seu texto eram macacos, obviamente. Uau!
[EN] The book "Planet of the Apes" came to fame thanks to its adaptation for the cinema in 1968, with the actor Charlton Heston, and until then it was never a classic of literature, it won this title by popularity and interest in reading the material that generated such a famous film. Which brought me to the question, what categorizes a "classic"? Because I have never read such a piece of crap!
The book is poorly written, tiresome, convoluted, the end with its ""surprising plot twist"" (which is not surprising at all) and its insufferable, self-centered, disgusting main character. The best part of the book was where a monkey calls him ugly, I laughed a lot!
The text is racist, misogynistic, prejudiced and the whole plot is very weak. Since a star must be placed here, here it is. It's not worth any stars. A big waste of time!

Racism describing African and indigenous peoples, praise for hegemony, prejudice all around, and endless misogyny! The only female character is described as having only beauty qualities, as dumb, subject to abuse and cured of her incompetence by forced motherhood. The female monkey character is admired for being intelligent but always reminded that she is inferior to other monkeys, and monkeys are of course an inferior 'race' for how could any being be above humans. Of the three-man crew that arrives on the planet, one is soon discarded and the great studious professor soon surrenders to becoming an animal, for only our protagonist is worthy!
Describing himself as of divine origin, superior, extremely intelligent, strong, blah blah blah. He quickly claims to own the beautiful (and young, because they are always strangely "so young") woman, gets her pregnant and comes to the conclusion that this is what made her better, and of course his child is compared to Jesus Christ. In the end he thinks he is going to run away to come back to this planet bringing a new evolution and hits a wall! Oh, and there is an insult to the handicapped there too, among such a bad story.
The scientific plot is poorly sustained and weak, the resolution is weak, and the couple that found his text were monkeys, obviously. Wow!
