Some good texts in this issue, and escpecially It Came From Monster Isle! and Unique Altars have some extraordinary juice for the creative GM. The more grotesque points made in Jezebel, Princess of Poison Winters and Ecology of the Homunculus made them more sensationalist than useful to me. The class-related stories Maximize your Monk and Horn of Triumph: Magical Instruments has some nice ideas and clarifications on monks and bards respectively. Also the short bestiary of three new and detailed vermin seem useful. All in all, more good than bad in KQ #5, but not an outstanding issue.
