So clearly this book took me a month to read. I think this book is much longer than it really needs to be... but despite that fact it isn't like it is bad. If I could get myself to start reading it I usually could stick with it. The story itself was enjoyable... just drawn out. I don't think I'll be reading Dan Brown anytime soon... but that's beside the point. All and all... the book was okay. I'm looking forward to moving onto other things tho...

My first Dan Brown read was The Da Vinci Code, which was followed by Deception Point. Even on my second book, I felt like I was figuring out the Dan Brown Formula.
The Formula: Create one international conspiracy around an earth-shattering secret. Add a male and female lead, each brilliant in their respective fields that will both come in handy for unraveling the aforementioned conspiracy. Mix in a dash of sexual tension and another wacky male friend. And there you have it!
This is not to say that I don't enjoy reading Brown's book. He writes a strong female lead, which is always appreciated. This book just happens to be my least favorite. The life-and-death situations got too extreme too often, and the scientific elements appeal to me less than the religious/historical elements in Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code.
