As you can see I listened to this twice in a small amount of time because when I came today to review the audiobook version I realised that I couldn't say much about the narrator's performance since I couldn't recall much. Part of it is because I really spaced out this week and part I realised is because as much as a good job the Bob Johnson did with the variety of voices there wasn't much emotion in his performance.

His narration wasn't robotic though. It just resembled, in a lot of ways, Nick, whose story this is, told through his POV. Nick is laid back, not prone to anger or impulsive decisions. So this of course the narration had that vibe and since the story had no angst at all, there wasn't really any place for emotions to rise apart from the couple of on page sex scenes, Nick's brother's announcement etc. But even those were tampered down.

A sweet hockey story that I wish was expanded a bit and give it that bit of more umphh needed to be more fulfilling.

Unexpectedly short, very sweet. The ending was a surprise in how suddenly it happened.

This was very cute, and I enjoyed it for a romance novella. (Romance novellas almost always leave me wanting more) Its definitely convinced me to try some of this authors full novels.

I am kinda upset, i wanted a full length version of this!!! The writing, one 3rd person POV is so rare I missed it so much I love it sm!!! And the premise was great! But the novella format made everything feel so rushed especially the relationship just materialised out of thin air in a very "two gay men in one room MUST be attracted to each other so now they're fucking" and I wish I could've had a full book of them getting to know each other before they stared dating.

But apart from that i liked it alot!! And also!! 3rd POV narrator!!!!!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed this quick little queer hockey novella! It follows Nick & Everett who get traded at the same time to a new team and speed runs their relationship. These two have a sweet relationship I just wish it was a little longer!
