Just as this is the best Star Wars movie, this is the best novelization of the OG trilogy. It offers up a lot of cute extra scenes between Han and Leia, and has some truly lovely passages with Leia using the Force. Also, I didn't know that Anakin falling into lava was like canon so early on.
