A long book with somewhat sluggish pacing. There is mention of a magic system, but it plays a very minor role. The world building is fairly good, although it lacks significant explanation (ie the blind, the rot, which I suspect will happen in the next books, etc). 

CW: rape, sexual assault, blood and gore that isn’t too explicit
