I like the concept of this book and the plot but I didn’t love any of the characters. Overall it was fine, and I’ll probably read the next one.

The story is decent but I’m left wondering: why is Geri so dumb?
One scene in particular that blew my mind with the stupidity was after she feels upset from sensing the slides. Jesse asks what’s wrong and instead of saying “As a hood I can sense werewolves and those samples were in great pain” she launches into detailed information about her past, her moms secret goals, the way Hoods operate, her ex Bf and his name, and tells him that she can fly.
It was, quite frankly, bizarre. And incredibly stupid.
It’s tough to read a good story with a shitty heroine, but hopefully in the next book she gains some common sense.

Good new UF series. I liked the concept of hoods/ Wolves and the separation between them and the vamps other supernaturals. Nothing particularly complex or difficult to figure out in terms of what is going on and who is a bad guy vs a good guy but still enjoyable and enough mystery to the history of hoods & slayers and Geri's extra powers and what are the vamps really up to, to keep the series going. I also liked how there is enough woven thru the story to understand the society of hoods/Wolves etc and Geri's romantic history without any info dumping. Looking forward to the next one.

Nice twist
I like where this is going a red hood that’s in love with a wolf. I also like the way that the wolf hood dichotomy has been flipped. I’ll be getting the next book.
