I mean it was fine, I was expecting a lot more. We read some of his stories in my creative writing class and I really liked them so I decided to pick up one of his books. I liked the stores at the beginning more, and as the book went on it was just dry and I found myself skimming through stories and becoming bored. I felt like some of the stories were extremely dark just for the sake of being extremely dark. I don’t mind some dark and twisted humor but some of them seemed that the only purpose was to be disturbing. I now understand why my teachers selected the stories they did, they picked the best products from a lackluster batch. I do have another one of his book, I might read it, still deciding. Some story’s were amazing and were worth reading but other were just... boring. Was this book translated from another language? If so maybe some stories would make more sense in the original language.

Ok, these stories are incredible. They're all really short and a lot of them can be really weird, but they're all unexpected and they stay with you.

Really different than what I usually read. Some of the stories were funny, others dark, some really affected me, others not so much. All of them really made me think, especially for all the stories being under six pages. All around cool book. Neat to peer into the authors thought process.

It's always hard to rate a short story collection like this, where some are so good I want to give them all five stars, some mediocre and some completely shitty. So an average rating comes through, but that fails to provide a clear picture. Here translation plays another part
The stories I absolutely loved are : Asthma Attack, Crazy Glue, Yordan, Vacuum Seal, The Girl On The Fridge, Nothing, The Night The Buses Died, On The Nutritional Value Of Dreams. I would recommend checking them out, if you don't have time for the full collection.
Rating has also been deducted due to the presence of frequent misogynistic elements in a seemingly positive light.
