Multiple storylines converging in the present time bring to life this very engaging mystery. There are four timelines, but it's not hard to keep track of the characters as they are all very distinctive.

And that's, for me, the book's main attraction; not the mystery but the lives of all these women, all these flawed characters who made mistakes and are less than perfect but, oh! so human!

I also enjoyed the multiple (and complex) mother-daughter relationships and the different jobs perspectives that highlight the prevalent misogynism in some lines of work.

I knew who the culprit was for a while before it was revealed, although that didn't make the story less enjoyable.

And the narration is particularly remarkable, it adds a lot to the story.

A bittersweet story of several character’s journey and how they were all connected. Each chapter being a different character so you got to know their telling of the story.

5 amazing stars for Emily Gunnis! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was a perfectly crafted mystery that weaves the stories of three strong female characters through multiple timelines (including 1940's, 1980's and 2010's).

This was equally as exciting and suspenseful as it was heartbreaking. I stopped everything to finish this book!

I will say that I quickly picked up the breadcrumbs the author was dropping for us to predict the murderer much before the reveal but it never took away from the story or my enjoyment. Even if you are an avid mystery reader and often predict the plot twists and the final reveal, I think the read to get there in this one is so well done that you won't even mind.

Author has a a tendency to repeat certain scenes throughout the book.  I thought I had this book figured out before 18% read and it was one of those books that you read to see how it all ties together.  I was wrong-This book got me with a definite surprise.

🎧 I really enjoyed this listen. It was a fast, easy listen with an interesting storyline. I also love Claire Corbett as a narrator. It’s told from past and present timelines and switches between them easily without confusion. The characters are both likeable and unlikeable but I really loved Olive, Jo and Daisy and was so invested in them. The storyline flows well and at an adequate pace to build the suspense and keep you engaged. There were times I applauded myself as I thought I had it all worked out but the ending was great surprise and I loved how it all came together.
