Oh Ken.. He surely went through a whirlwind of emotions in this one; apart from everything else going on.

Well dang, I'm emotional.

I love how this volume brings together all the people whose lives Kaneki has touched. There's
SpoilerSaiko and Urie refusing to give up on Mutsuki
. There's the scene where everyone
Spoilergathers around Kaneki's bedside - I'm ugly crying, by the way, over Saiko calling him Maman again and Nishio trying to hide his relief when he wakes up
. And of course,
SpoilerHide and Kaneki's conversation
, a grounding note on which the volume ends. The world does not deserve Hide.

I was also struck by how even now, with all this soul-searching, there's such a contrast between Kaneki's self-image and how the people around him view him. I am once again asking when this boy will get to rest and heal.

This volume had a lot of information that I was so excited for. Also Hide’s face reveal
