Well, I loved the two first books in this series but I couldn't like this one at all. There are some aspects that I liked and some that I didn't. So, firstly, Laurie is one my favourite characters, however, thus the ending of the book I think he's gonna turn out to be a type of character that I don't vibe with anymore. I liked the dialogues in this book, it is one the strongest aspects narratively and I wish we had more dialogues throughout the book because most of the time since it's narrated in 1st person there are long monologues. Said that, I still can't connect with the main character Fortuna and I was kind disappointed on how some characters were sidelined. Also, I'm also very confused about some aspects regarding the magic system and the political/court system in this story. There were some plot points that started but they were resolved very quickly and easily for a big book like this, and even some events that could lead to some interesting changes but it wasn't mentioned afterwards.
So, I might read the next because I still need answers regarding Collith and Laurie's relationship (I really don't like that the dynamics between them and Fortuna have been established as some kind of competition) and the ending did leave me curious enough just to see the wrap of this series.

4.5 I thought I was mad a Fortune after book 2, HA ! that was nothing. I'm furious at her after book 3. She is dead to me, DEAD ! I swear this girl just does the most drastic things without thought, without listening, without any thought of others, she makes me scream ! << Screaming internally >> I don't want the neighbors calling the police.
This book, oh my gawd ! Twisted like a super tornado, KJ Sutton is evil ! (It's why I love this author) I swear I can't stop my " holy shiitake" outburst when I think about it. I was played ! Everything I thought I knew, characters I was sure were_______ and what happened was______. No.
So when you read this remember I warned you. You will be twisted, you will want to throttle Fortuna, you will most likely pull some hair out and have trouble sleeping. Best wishes to you
Bravo KJ Sutton

More people need to be reading this series. It is amazing. These books are just getting better and better. Why are more people not reading these???
Collith is back from hell and trying to heal.
Fortuna has to deal with her own trauma due to the deal she made with a devil at the crossroads, in order to bring Collith back. She starts seeing a therapist to try and deal with her PTSD and her past.
Laurie is still in this book but not as much as the other two. I love his interactions with Fortuna. I'm just waiting for something to happen between them.
Oliver is also not in this book as much as before but I can tell he is going to play a bigger part in the next book.
We find out Fortuna's friend (and fry cook where she works), Cyrus is a dragon. A species thought to be extinct.
We meet a couple of new characters - Gwyn of the Wild Hunt who has been sent to kill Fortuna and Dracula.
We are left on another cliffhanger.
