Good variety of easy yet sophisticated recipes.
Lots of seafood in this book

Some great recipes and great flavours, but without a food processor there is no way to do this in 15 minutes. There are usually lots of ingredients involved, and it takes some time to chop them all up. The recipes we tried so far took us from beginning to end more like 30-45 minutes. They're great for weekends, but not for busy weekdays.

Great cookbook especially for busy families. We were apprehensive at first as to whether the recipes would only take 15 minutes but we have found that they do in fact usually only take around 15 minutes from start to finish including all of the prep.

This cookbook is really saving us time and money as we can throw a well balanced, healthy, flavourful meal together in less time than it would take us to go out and grab something already made.

The nice thing is that since the meals are quick to make my husband has finally started joining me in the kitchen to help with these meals.

We have tried 6 recipes so far and they have all been a hit with our kids.

While he adds chilli peppers in most recipes it really is only for flavour and we have found nothing to be overly spicy (I have kids who have recently decided they don't like spice at all and they haven't said a word about any of the meals). I do like that there are lots of veg in the meals and generally these meals are very cost effective. There are a few items you may not regularly stock in your pantry, but once you pick up a package of these items they will last you for quite a few recipes.

Cooked two meals from this so far. Both have been excellent and non-fussy to prepare. I can see myself using this a lot.

Jamie I love you... but some of us can't eat your favourite ingredient. Pleeease stop putting chilli in absolutely everything;-) Tons of great recipes that are quick and easy and pack a punch full of flavour - would love to see more recipes that don't have chilli as i am allergic... but still a great cookbook.

I often use the library to look for cookbooks that I might want to buy. I am not sure why I did that with a Jamie Oliver cookbook though because I already know that I like his books. But borrow it from the library I did, and now I will be happy to actually buy it, most particularly for the chicken recipes. Some of the recipes that sound like possibilities include Gorgeous Greek Chicken with Herby Vegetable Couscous and Tatziki or Chicken Tikka, Lentil, Spinach and Naan Salad.

The whole essence of this book is speed and there were times when I was reading the instructions when I felt like I was rushing when I was reading it. I am not sure if that was my inflection or the way it was written!

Like most of Jamie Oliver's books, this is full of beautiful photographs and I loved that at the back there were a couple of pages that showed the photos of each recipe but with added nutritional information. I did want to mention one thing about the presentation of this book though. I know what it is all the rage to have your meals served on boards now when you go to restaurants but I was surprised that nearly every recipe in this book is instructed to be served on boards or platters and is pictured that way all the way through the book. I don't know about anyone else, but this is not a way that we ever eat at home! I am all for only making the plates dirty that have to be used, not any others! Maybe that is just me!

An okay cookbook. This ended up being a bit too advanced for my skill level (and common palette!) but the book is designed beautifully.
