This started out alright, but in the maze of ineffective time jumps, different voices, and a very sensational arrival of a severed hand, House of Widows lost me. The author's punctuated style of new paragraph breaks for every nuance in action left me cold and thinking of the amateur writing of romance novelists who cannot find any other way to convey pauses and emphasis. I couldn't bring myself to read every excruciating word towards the end and started skimming entire pages. Not recommended.
