I have read few books where I felt I knew the characters so well. In an odd way, I knew everything and understood little. Much like the characters themselves. They're a very muddled lot.
Not very much happened, and it seems to drag on (though I read it at a fast pace). It's full of contradictions.
I think there is more to tell. I was just getting involved and it ended. What happens with Ginsberg and Kate? What about Velma? How does the story end? The author has left too many things unsaid for me to be completely satisfied.
That said, this is a superbly written book.

An unlikeable trainwreck of a dysfunctional family novel, with too many gratuitous penis mentions and a cast of egotistical characters that seemed to be written as weird for the sake of being weird. It was ultimately unsatisfying. Would recommend Jean Harley Was Here, her second novel, over this one.
