I did like quite a few poems here but I think while this format is meant to shine a light on up and coming authors for me it really does them a disservice. From a readers perspective I found it hard to find writers individual voice. There wasn't much cohesion in how they were shown/ordered which made me feel like we were just jumping between places all the time.

“I am trying to show how much better I am. I am trying to be the functional human that I hope so much you will like again.”

Poetry anthologies are perfect for finding your genre of poetry. As I already know ‘my’ genre of poetry, this wasn’t my favourite anthology. That being said, the diversity of voices, spiralling narratives and the stories depicting our world today were incredibly prominent and deserve to be heard. For someone who wants to explore poetry and find your new favourites, this is for you!
