It has been a while since I read this book series, so I picked it up and decided to re-read it again. I love Lucan, he is such an honorable tortured hero. Gabrielle is a perfect mate for him, and every page made me want to keep reading. I can't wait to read Dante's book again, I love the Breed Warriors!

Damn, I should really reread it because I don't remember what it was about and I'm interested.

I didn't exactly expect the classiest experience here, but there was a scene very early in the book where the male lead breaks into the female lead's home while she's asleep (they have officially met once at this point) and goes into her room, where she is naturally sleeping in the nude, and he proceeds to go down on her (among other things) while she's asleep and unable to provide any consent whatsoever. When she wakes up in the morning, she has no idea what has happened to her and believes it was a wet dream. I have no interest in reading a book that frames nonconsensual sex of any kind as desirable, sexy, or anything of the sort.

I decided to give MIDNIGHT BREED a reread and catch up on all the new books. KISS OF MIDNIGHT was as great as I remembered and I loved the unique take Adrian had on vampires.
I loved Gabrielle's vulnerability but also her strength in the face of it. She gets thrown into a world she knows nothing about but continues to stand up for herself. I also really adored how she cared for Lucan who resists falling in love with everything he has. Lucan's all about killing Rogues and trying to control his growing bloodlust; he's an alpha male through and through.
I'm looking forward to rereading more of this series.
Content Warning: Gabrielle used to self harm as a teenager

Vampire love interest books are always my thing, will always be my thing. Forever.
And I think I'll like this way more if I read it in English, I had the Dutch translation (as they only had the Dutch book in the library) and I just ... didn't like the translation.
Need to find these books in English and then give it another go. I'll probably add a star once I do!
