This was a wonderful collection of indigenous stories full of lessons and whimsy. The stories were told very well and in a way that held the attention of the reader. I read this on audiobook and I greatly enjoyed the narrator as well.
Before every story there is a little vocabulary lesson introducing you to some words in the native language of the author. I found this to be very interesting and a great addition to the stories. The stories are deeply rooted in nature and I loved that especially for my kids. It really held their attention.
I definitely want to read more by this author.

Listened to this as an audiobook which is the format I recommend. Great stories.

I truly appreciate this book as a gentle introduction to Anishnaabe traditional stories (told in a more modern approach). I loved how Leanne Simpson integrates Anishnaabemowin throughout her stories; I feel like it helped me learn and understand the language better. I'm excited to add it to my school library; I think it will be extremely useful.

I love this collection of stories! The inclusion of Anishinaabemowin translations and traditional illustrations make this especially enjoyable.
