This book was just okay for me. I don't watch The Office, so while I enjoyed her humor, I couldn't relate as much. Just didn't do it for me. Took me almost two weeks to get through a very short book - not a good sign...

Listened to this on audio, read by the author. Light and frothy with lots of little vignettes that make it easy to pick up and put down.

I'm not sure who the audience was for this book (I chose it as a random read) but god, I hated it. I really truly hated it. It was so boring? And Mindy talks with this familiarity as though she's my BFF giving me advice... I dont know. It sucked.

I love Mindy Kaling and her brand of humor but this book didn't do it for me. I wanted it to be like Tina Fey's Bossypants yet it was not, not even close, which the author herself even addresses in the introduction (self-fulfilling prophecy). I do see Mindy on a similar trajectory as Tina Fey, so I was let down. I think it was just too soon for her to attempt this feat. This is not to say I didn't enjoy it, or laugh out loud several times, but it didn't have that delicious addictive quality that I look for in my humor.

Dar viena memuarinė knyga (šį rudenį tai turbūs skaitomiausias mano žanras). Šįkart į rankas paėmiau vienos iš serialo „The Office“ rašytojų, amerikiečių komikės Mindy Kaling autobiografinę knygą „Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me“. Meh. I love Mindy, but ... meh. I think it's because I don't think I like the format of this book. I was "meh" about Tina Fey's book also, which is a similar format.

In parts it feels dated now, but it was overall amusing. I wish Mindy Laling were casted in more roles. She is so funny. Also, she weirdly "predicted" a lot of things that have since come out: a female Ghostbusters, a country album from Beyonce... (there is a lot more, but I don't remember them).
