The start of a new adventure!

This is my second read of this volume and, sadly, it wasn’t as good as the first time around. There were cute elements but I wish people were just honest with each other. There has to be some drive to the story, though and I guess Mizuki’s big secret works.

In this one it is summer and our trio is off to work at family inn of the school doctor.

The boarding school is closing for a few weeks to fix a couple of things and Mizuki and Sano need to go somewhere else. Thankfully they get a chance to go somewhere. To work, but at least they got a place to stay. I loved that Mizuki grabbed it with both hands, Sano followed her, and Nakatsu couldn’t let these two alone to be together.

Seriously, how long can Sano continue to not talk about how Mizuki is a girl? IT BOGGLES THE MIND.

Recently did a reread of the first 4 volumes back to back and so it all blends together. But, I think the story is fun! We have our main character who loves this athlete and wants to be closer to him so, she does the logical thing which is dress up as a boy so she can go to the same all boys school. There is a love triangle thing going on between her and athlete boy and the other guy ( I don't remember any of their names). I love seeing orange hair guy going through gay panic its honestly hilarious- OH and the hot doctor...I just need a story of just him. Anyways a cute manga for it's time, I love the feel of early 2000s manga, it just feels different.

Content Warning for Sexual Assault (no graphic scenes)

Another volume done of the Hana-Kimi series. This one has the fun trope of summer vacation, beach, and working at an inn. Love seeing the main trio (Sano, Mizuki, Nakastu) outside of the school setting. And seeing a previous character come as a guest of the inn. Adds some nice tension between Sano and Mizuki. And I love Io. She's feisty, but so caring towards Mizuki. There is a scene when a sleaze guy attacks Mizuki in a sexual way and Mizuki does have PTSD over the attack. So if you need to skip pages 152-186, those cover the assault, PTSD reaction, and some flashback/talking scenes between Sano and Mizuki.

I like the relationship between the two main characters and I like the idea of the series, but I don't like most of the situations driving the plot.

Mizuki and the dorm guys need to leave cause there are repairs except there is no where for her to go. She goes to her trustee, Doctor Umeda and he refers her to work at his older sister, Io's vacation inn. Of course, Sano and Nakatsu decided to join lol. They meet Makita and he knows...he knows and is doing everything he can to get close to Mizuki and Sano doesnt like it. Poor Nakatsu is having major gay panic and thinks about spending more intimate time with Mizuki lmao.
Kagurazaka and his siblings, Tamani and Kyomi, are guests at the inn and his sister Tamami is hardcore crushing Sano but he declines and ignores her. He actually told Mizuki that he liked "him" and he hated Sano.
ahhh Io discovered her secret and told her some things she needed to hear...
eww Makita is disgusting but I loved how Sano knew right away and went to go help her. HE KISSED HER!!!!!!!!
Nakatsu and Kyomi are bff material...enemies to besties
