This wasn’t a favorite. It was an okay little story but the assumptions made about Jack and the way Avery’s parents acted just got on my nerves. Felt way too extreme and hard to like the characters

A sweet little book about an old lady, a lost granddaughter, an antisocial neighbour, and a grubby little dog who changes everything.

Melody Carlson is an author I enjoy, especially her Christmas stories. This Christmas book, like her others, is short and sweet, with a message on being a good Christian/human being. In this story we learn the importance of loving thy neighbor and not to judge too quickly. This is the perfect read for the holiday season.

Every character besides Jack was unbelievably annoying and immature.

I am enjoying these short, holiday books from Melody Carlson. They are just nice stories that aren't romance centered...which is a nice change from all the holiday romances I've been reading. Not a new favorite but definitely an author I will be checking out more books from.

Sweet, simple, just what I needed at the hectic Christmas season. An older lady, her granddaughter, a stray dog and a pesky neighbor made for an easy read :)

These books that allude to being about animals always disappoint me because they end up being more about the people. That being said, I liked the people in this book. I believe I would have liked it more had it been longer and a bit more developed.

This was such a touching book. It was heartwarming, and really reminded me of what Christmas was about. I like how she struggles with being a good Christian because it's something we all struggle with.
