"A plague of locusts isn't superior to a field of wheat because it destroys it."

Fast paced, and intense. This takes the Doctors power trip in 'Waters of Mars' and dials it up to 10.

An enjoyable Doctor Who novella with a lot of big nods to the show, it's a very short book that builds up to the sequel (could it have just been one book? Probably). I'm going to have to keep an eye out for the sequel to know what happens next but this was a quick chill read that I read in a couple of hours on a quiet day at work

When I picked this one up, I didn't realize it was a story without an ending. It seriously just stops on a dime with NO conclusions whatsoever. You have to get the next book for the ending.

I hate that.

That aside, the author does a good job of writing Ten as he is in The Waters of Mars. Angry, defiant, arrogant, determined to change fixed points in time.

The problem that I have with that is he gets a wake up call with the ending of that story, so he really shouldn't be exactly the same here. If this story took place immediately before, maybe (but then again, I have no conclusion yet, so can't say if that's the better place for it or not, grrrr).

Now getting to the heart of the Time Lord Victorious story and well, it's pretty solid for the build of everything so far. A very quick read but overall builds up the main themes of the story and how all three Doctors merge into this story by the end. Also gave a lot of answers to several question of previous adventures. Cant wait to get to All Flesh is Grass

An excellent addition to the Time Lord Victorious multi-platform event. Beyond that it's a excellent Tenth Doctor story exploring themes that were never fully explored in "The Waters of Mars". Brilliant or should I say Fantastic?!
