Sadie is hiding at college. Hiding from her parents and the tragic events that changed their family forever and what she did to try to alleviate the pain. When she meets Brady Carsen at a bar one night, she discovers the guy who's not her type might just be the one to change her life.

I enjoyed how certain Brady was of he felt for Sadie and pursued her, despite what she may have said or done. He made Sadie realize she was worth loving and fighting for...something she didn't believe. Brady didn't have an easy life either. With both his parents out of the picture, he was living a life with constant reminders of what he used to have. With the help of Sadie and his sister, he learned to let go of the hurt.

This was a very "cute" read. I don't know if I should say "cute" when referring to Brady and Sadie, since they both have less than idyllic lives, but their romance had it sweet and hot moments, sprinkled with a bit of heavy that just made it irresistible and enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this book. The sex scenes contain a good bit of language and are graphic so certainly a 17+ read but the characters are great and there was a nice story.

I liked this book, but I didn't love it. Thus, based on this site's rating system I'm going to give it 3 stars. If we were on Amazon, I'd make it a 4 star rating.
It was a good story that had interesting characters, full of flaws and realistic issues that helped me relate to the characters and their stories. The book flowed well and I was satisfied with the ending. And as you can probably tell, I can willingly compliment this book, but it doesn't make me want to go out and rave about it.
My biggest issue really just stems from the fact I didn't like how the main characters handle their issues most of the time. the heroine, Sadie, is a chubby girl, that tragedy turned into a slut, then life knocked some sense into her. Thus, she started over at a new school, with a new friends, where she inevitably meets our hero, Brady. Now Brady has his own issues, of course. These issues are ones he keeps hidden for most of the book so I won't delve into them here. However, Brady doesn't hide the fact that he is infatuated with Sadie and determined to stick by her.
Throughout the book, both Sadie and Brady don't feel comfortable with their issues, whether it means sharing them, or facing them. All through the story, they both run away or at least pull away from each other in an effort to not let their demons touch one another. I found it a bit tiring for one thing. For another (which I feel a bit callous for even feeling this way), they seemed a bit over dramatic to me. I don't know if I'm not being sympathetic enough or I've read too many books with bigger issues, but it seemed almost stupid and ridiculous that they would pull away and play the martyr so frequently. I don't think I would've minded as much if it only happened once (which I guess is the case for Brady, so I won't fault his character), but Sadie did it multiple times throughout the story, and I got tired of it really quick. I couldn't connect and understand her actions. I understood her motives, I suppose, but the fact that she followed through with her actions so many times aggravates me.
As far as other issues, the supporting cast was just alright to me. I felt like we only really got to know Jessa, Sadie's best friend and roommate. Now that I'm done reading, I surmise that is because the author wanted a second book (or, perhaps, more than a second) to expand upon the characters. However, I think it took away a bit from this book that we never really got to know them in this book really at all. I think this novel could've used them some for more comedic releases to help balance the story more.
Still a good book though. I will have to check out the blurb and reviews on the next book before deciding if I want to read more though.

Enjoyable romance. Perfect summer read. Just enough drama, I really liked this book.

4.5* A Really enjoyable fun read and I really liked the idea that the two main characters Sadie and Brady both thought they weren't good enough for each other, as in many books its always one or the other.

As with most college based romance there were some moments of angst but thanks to some really great characters especially grandma Ida those moments were well balanced with humour and made the overall story much more enjoyable and more realistic.

This is only the second book I have read by this author but after enjoying this so much it won't be my last and one I would recommend especially if you like college based romances. :-)

4.5 stars for me!

Straight away the book pulled me in and I wanted to find out what happened to Sadie...

I liked that they were both sort of caged up at the start, but then opened up to each other.

Overall great book, can’t wait to read Grant and Jessa’s story next! 😬
