Yet again, Artemis does not fail in delivering a spectacular action and adventure fantasy story.

Yet again, the author does a spectacular job in bringing together his main characters of Artemis, Butler, Holly, Foley, Root and Mulch. He brings these characters together in a very believable scenario...not contrived. The characters each have their own strengths and weakness. They each have their own likes and dislikes.

As for me, my favorite character? Golly...love Artemis...love Holly...love Foley...love Root...love Mulch...even lovin the newest addition of Juliet but probably my absolute favorite is still Butler. He earned that spot in book two and even though he is not central in this story, Butler remains steadfast...he is my favorite as I love his sense of honor, strength, courage and responsibility.
Right behind Butler is Artemis and Holly. I love how those two play off of one another. I really like how smartly and quickly they think. They each are very good in figuring out how to get out of tough situations...smartly.

Overall, Artemis Fowl books deliver wonderful and smart stories with a terrific casting of characters. The Eternity Code is no exception.

Whether this is intentional or not, this concludes the first major arc of the Artemis Fowl series and does it masterfully. I'm not a fan of the plot itself but it's unimportant compared to the character development we see. And Artemis's sacrifice, though undercut by it being a lie, is a huge step for him and the conflict this deception creates within Artemis and the true friendship that it burgeoning between him and Holly but also the rest of the the People. Again I think this series is more about the characters than about the plot, but it was fun to have a true heist novel to test their abilities.

I wanted to love these and they were meh... I don't know if it was the narrator, the story, my frame of mind, me in general but these were not enthralling like I hoped and Carson was right. The movie and the book are like Ready Player One book vs movie. or The Shining book vs movie. They are inspired by but they are totally separate entities.
Basically Ireland is a land of magic and the Fowl family is a heist crew for magic. But Artemis and Holly are the odd couple of friends who need each other and are the last person each other need to keep life interesting and adventurous.

As always, I loved getting lost in the world Eoin Colfer created for this series. I still think the first book in the series is the best, but I still adored this one. It had twists and turns (Butler!!!) and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved it so much. I would recommend this book and series. 5 out of 5 stars, easily. Can't wait to start the next one!

I'm really enjoying this series. I love seeing what shenanigans Artemis is getting into and how Holly and the faeries get involved in them. And I love all of Artemis's plans. They're clever, interesting and fun.

This time around, Artemis screws up. He underestimates the target of one of his schemes, and shit hits the fan in a big way. He needs help from the People. And because this scheme has caused problems for them too, help is granted. So we have another collaboration between team Artemis and the LEP.

Like I said before, I really enjoy these books. There's not a lot here that's different from the others because the changes are slow and subtle. We see how Artemis has changed since he first kidnapped Holly and how his relationship with the people in his life, especially Holly and Butler, has evolved. I kinda want Artemis's parents to be a bigger part of the books, but I'm not sure that'll happen. Besides, I do quite like the terrific trio of Artemis, Holly and Butler, with assistance from several other characters.

One of my favourite things in the series is Artemis's big plan at the end of each book, which we never learn about beforehand but see unfolding. That's always exciting.

Overall, this was another really fun read. The audio performance was, again, great. The ending was almost a cliffhanger, hence why I jumped straight into the next one. I'm thinking about maybe finishing the series over the next couple of months, but only as long as I'm excited to keep going because I want to keep my enjoyment intact.
