There is a tremendous difference between a bad book and a book that just isn't for you. This isn't a bad book. For a younger audience I think this would be very appealing.
What a story! Put this in the hands of any middle school boy (not to mention adults!) and he will read and read. High stakes, great tension, and terrific world building. Enjoy!
A completely original story that can be enjoyed by YA readers and adults alike, Bruns' first novel is replete with well-crafted characters, a fast moving narrative and a great concept for a book that made me hope for more tales in this universe.
