Highly recommend if you have questions about historical reliability of the Gospels! The author is logical, straight forward, and doesn’t make unsupported and irrational claims based on a little bit of evidence. Really helped me address some questions I had, and I appreciated how non-preachy it was!

Concise but through read on the historical accuracy of the gospels. Would recommend as a personal reiteration on why we can trust gospel accounts.

I'm afraid I was a bit disappointed with this book; not that I dispute anything in it, more I'd hoped for more from its title. I think I thought from the title it had a different aim to that which the author intended.

The author spends 7 chapters establishing that the documents we read today in our Bibles faithfully reflect the documents as originally authored, and that the authors wrote within decades of events taking place and were either eye witnesses or spoke to people who were. He labours his points somewhat. But crucially that says nothing about whether the claims are true or not.

There is only one chapter - the final one -
on the claims in the gospels themselves and whether we can trust the extraordinary claims in them. That is the best chapter by far and that left me thirsting for more! I'd have expanded that last chapter into 7 chapters and condensed the first 7 into 2.

The final chapter raises this from a 2 star to a 3 star.

Brilliantly concise and highly accessible - I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the reliability of the Gospels, to see how these four books (as the bedrock of our faith) can be rationally trusted and how they are presented among other historical contexts and claims.

I preordered this book, got it on Tuesday, and finished it today. It was a lot shorter than I expected, but was more than I hoped for. The amount of detail he covers in the few short pages of this book blew my mind! I had already learned some of the material, having had watched his lecture of it on YouTube (New Evidence the Gospels are written by Eyewitnesses), but am still amazed at the amount and type of details he includes.

Things that I never would have thought of, he explains in detail. Yet he never leaves himself at a high level writing; this is for the layman, this is for the average person. I would, however, suggest you talk about this book with someone who has done more studies: there is so much covered, so quickly, it can be overwhelming.

I would definitely encourage you to read this book, no matter whether you are Christian or not.
