This book is on par with the other historical romance books I've read this year (a new genre to me) in that it is rather predictable, but enjoyable. The male character is a mystery and the female anything but, yet somehow they fall in love and you are rooting for them the entire time.

Immediately I was drawn to this story by the book description. The desperation and loneliness portrayed in just that first sentence made me want to read this story quickly. Unfortunately, I don’t know if the rest of the story lived up to that feeling. There was a secondary story/plot line that included the Duke’s brother that kind of turned me off. I felt that the new duchess went maybe one step too far than I would have liked. I really did enjoy the parts of the story that brought Miranda and Marcus together, especially when they were honest with each other. Once they started opening up to each other I loved the connection they formed and the story took off from there. Enjoyable read but maybe not one of my favorites.

Infidelity is infidelity. Be it a kiss or going all the way. It is infidelity even if it is committed within thoughts.

When you vow to love, cherish and be faithful to someone, you had better do it! Irrespective of it being an arranged, forced, convenient or love marriage.

Infidelity committed once, is one time too many.

A well written trashy novel! :) Fun, quick read and just what I was looking for.

Light and enjoyable reading. Finished it in a few hours on a long train ride.

The author has an easy to read writing style but other than that I just didn't like the book. It was impossible to tell even what period it was set in!
SpoilerThe book cover made me think Regency, some of the characters' behaviour was Georgian, but our hero had a search through his mother's desk & found stamps. So, Victorian?
